The Indian Navy is inviting applications from unmarried male and female candidates for the Agniveer (MR) – 02/2024 batch. Eligible candidates must have passed the Matriculation Examination with at least 50% aggregate marks and must be born between November 1, 2003, and April 30, 2007. Agniveers (MR) will serve for a duration of four years and will receive a monthly salary of ₹30,000, with fixed annual increments and additional allowances. Upon completing their service, Agniveers will be awarded a ‘Seva Nidhi’ package, which includes their accumulated contributions along with a matching contribution from the government.

The selection process for the Agniveer (MR) – 02/2024 batch involves two stages. Stage I is the Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET), which is a computer-based online examination. Stage II includes a Physical Fitness Test (PFT), a written examination, and a Recruitment Medical Examination. Candidates must pass each stage to advance to the next. The final merit list will be based on the performance in the Stage II written exam, provided candidates also pass the PFT and Recruitment Medical Examination. After completing four years of service, up to 25% of each Agniveer batch will have the opportunity to apply for permanent enrollment in the Indian Navy as sailors in the regular cadre.

Indian Navy Agnipath Scheme Details for Agniveer MR
Agnipath is a revolutionary Human Resource Management system for the Indian Armed Forces, including the Indian Navy. Candidates selected through the Agnipath Scheme (MR Entry) will be designated as Agniveer MR in the Indian Navy, a distinct rank separate from all other ranks.
After serving four years, all Agniveer MR personnel will transition back to civilian life. However, those who leave the Navy will have the opportunity to re-join the Navy in the regular cadre based on the Navy’s requirements and established standards. Each Agniveer MR’s skills will be documented in a certificate, which will be added to their resume. A centralised board will transparently review these applications, and no more than 25% of the original batch of Agniveer MR will be selected for permanent enrollment in the Navy based on their performance during their four-year service period.
